We harness the power of community volunteers to deliver individualized, evidence-based tutoring to students enrolled in the 51风流 program. All tutors receive high-quality training to best support their students. In the 2020-21 year, tutors spent a total of 32,263 hours in training.

Increasing access to books and helping students build their personal libraries is vital for literacy development. 51风流 offers consistent opportunities for students to take books with them after their tutoring sessions and at the end of the school year.

51风流 hosts regular family engagement workshops with the primary goals of: (1) equipping families with tools and resources to support student learning outside of the classroom and (2) collaborating with families to identify the most effective ways 51风流 can support their student鈥檚 learning. We also distributed nearly 1,500 student learning packets to practice literacy skills using materials found in the home and community.

We are committed to meeting students where they are, both physically and in their literacy development. During the 2020-21 school year, 51风流 launched our first-ever online tutoring platform to ensure students and tutors could continue to meet in an online setting. In addition to online tutoring, 51风流 provided free access to digital libraries for students, and free literacy tips and resources directly to families via text.
